We offer log home kits made from pre-cut cedar logs. The 6-, 8- and 12-foot logs are tongue and groove, preventing air infiltration and constructed with posts and beams. This method of construction is one of the strongest and permits an endless variety of floor plans, exterior elevations and additions.

Cedar has the best insulating quality of all woods used for the construction of log homes - termites won’t bother it and it is highly resistant to expansion and contraction because the cells are made up of air, and air can’t freeze.

These cedar log homes are cool in the summer and warm in the winter. They are V.A. and F.H.A. approved, qualifying for the energy efficient utility rates and meet or exceed current building codes.

Because of the post and beam method of construction (as well as butt and pass, dove-tail and Swedish cope) and the variety of log profiles (from traditional D-shaped to contemporary clapboard design), Colonial Structures cedar log homes are suitable for just about any suburban or country setting. The kits come with easy-to-follow construction plans and instructions, and many people build their own.

Log homes in Western Red and Northern White Cedar range in price from $18,000 to $38,000 and can be constructed on any type of foundation.
